Due to the sustained drought that this area has been in, most of the activity planned for this year for pasture restoration has been postponed. With a burn ban in effect, we cannot burn and since we cannot burn we cannot plant.
We have started tree shearing in what is called the 67 acre pasture. This is the pasture that we did a small burn in last year. The purpose of the shearing is to open the area up more for wildlife and plant life and reduce the mesquite for water management.
- Postponed - prescribed burn - very doubtful for this year due to the drought and burn bans. If we cannot do a burn the re-seeding will be postponed for a year.
